Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers, caretakers, professionals, leaders, and hardworking women doing their best to balance life while still showing up for themselves.

This Mother's Day Power Yoga Sculpt session was designed specifically for busy people who need their workout to count. In one hour or less, we packed in a complete full-body training experience combining yoga-inspired movement, dumbbell strength training, cardio conditioning, core activation, mobility work, and mindful recovery.

Set to an explosive playlist from Le Castle Vania, this class brought intensity, focus, and momentum from beginning to end.

Today’s Power Sculpt sequence emphasized:

  • Hip opening and lower body mobility

  • Glute and hamstring strengthening

  • Core stability and posture training

  • Upper body endurance

  • Functional strength for real-life movement

  • Stress relief through intentional movement and breath


We used yoga blocks to elevate our feet during weighted sumo squats, allowing us to drop deeper into the movement and create more activation through the legs and glutes. The pulses challenged muscular endurance while helping build strength in the hips and posterior chain.

In tabletop, weighted donkey kicks fired up the glutes while forcing the core to stabilize the spine and pelvis. We also explored offset push-up work using a yoga block beneath one hand at a time, increasing instability and requiring deeper recruitment from the chest, shoulders, arms, and abdominals.

The shoulder-tap push-up sequence demanded focus, control, and resilience:Shoulder tap. Shoulder tap. Push-up. Repeat.

Simple movements. Serious work.

By the end of class, we had challenged nearly every major muscle group while elevating the heart rate and strengthening the mind.
